Planning Your Babymoon

Pregnancy can be a stressful time for most people.  There is a lot to learn and accomplish during this time.  And some couples spend hours with a Houston fertility specialist to conceive in the first place.  For this reason, you might benefit from a babymoon.  Spend some time relaxing before the new one enters the world.  Here are some top babymoon destinations to consider.

Antigua

If you are looking for an exotic getting, book a trip to Antigua.  Jumby Bay in the West Indies is a fantastic option.  You can get to this location by boat.  Don’t worry.  It only takes 8 minutes on the water.  Then you will be able to relax on an amazing resort.  You can stay in a hotel or reserve a vacation home.  While you are here, make sure to book a pregnancy massage.

Naples

Another popular resort location for babyboomers is Naples, Florida.  The Naples Grande Resort and Club has an amazing spa for expecting mothers.  In addition, you can spend time on the Gulf of Mexico.  These shores are in Naples backyard.  And they are ideal for swimming, aqua-biking, and frolicking – all good things to help the expectant mother relax.  Just make sure you use sunscreen.  It’s easy to get a tan and pregnancy can increase the damage from the sun.  So just be careful.

Vermont

If you love nature, than a trip to Vermont may be just what you need.  Consider escaping to the Topnotch Resort & Spa in Stowe, Vermont.  Here you can hit the slopes on foot – since skis are off limits when you are pregnant.  You can escape to the mountains, lounge during the day, and sit by fireside at night.  Additionally, you can enjoy amazing cocoa – every mom’s favorite.  Furthermore, we love the private guides that can take you on a trek tailored to your pregnancy.  Although you may not be able to go far, you can still have fun outdoors.

For the least stress, plan your babymoon during the second trimester.  According to most OBGYNs, this is the safest time to fly when you are expecting.  Most importantly, have fun!

Christmas Traditions Around the World

If you grew up believing that Father Christmas lives at the North Pole and spends his year supervising an army of toy making elves then I’ve got some painful news for you — it’s a lie.

The real Santa Claus who, by the way, uses the alias Sinterklass, lives in Spain  and completes his annual round mounted on a white stallion and aided by his now dubiously named assistant, Black Peter. Despite assiduously keeping a year-round ledger of the good and bad deeds of Dutch children this gift giver lacks something in the calendar department and arrives 19 days early on December 6th.

Beware a Man Bearing Gifts

It gets worse. Over France he calls himself Pere Noel changing his name, as he swoops over Scandinavia, to Jola Sveinar in Iceland and Julenisse for Norway and Denmark. Lets face it there are as many manifestations of Father Christmas out there as there are traditions; and most of those are rooted centuries before our modern customs of trees, cards and holiday decor.

The sound of church bells late on Christmas Eve has echoed around the Christian world for centuries and can be traced back to medieval England where a variety of loud noises were produced to frighten away evil spirits. The yule log, today more likely to be cake than wood, is another custom brought to America from England where it was ceremoniously burnt on Christmas Eve. Some modern Europeans still keep a log burning until Epiphany, on January 6th. And candy canes are said to date back to 1670 when the choirmaster of Cologne Cathedral had crook-bent sugar sticks made to hand out to his young vocalists.

Food for Thought

Second only to the eponymous Christmas tree is the universal custom of holiday feasting. Some countries prefer Christmas Eve for family gatherings, but all celebrate with a traditional meal. Britain, where goose was once popular even in the lowest of families, has now followed America by serving turkey with all the fixings. But whether Christmas dinner is followed by pumpkin pie and fruit cake in America or Stollen in Germany or Buche de Noel in France or Danish Kringle, an Advent loaf in the shape of a pretzel … the sparkle of Christmas would surely be a little dimmer without its world of traditions.

Successful Business Travel

Traveling for work can be frustrating, time consuming, and simply a pain.  Too often, work travel is glamorized.   Sadly, no expensive meal in a foreign city can compensate for the comfort of your own bed – especially when you seem to spend your life on the road.  However, there are several things you can do to promote better business travel.

Plan, Plan, Plan

First, make sure to plan ahead of time.  There is nothing more important you can do to promote a successful trip then to plan.  Good plans will help your trip to go smoothly.  And they will prevent unwanted hiccups along the way.  Consider making an itinerary to help the process.  Plan your meetings, activities, and dinners.  Although you cannot account for everything, a good task manager will definitely make your life easier.

A Credit Card For Travel

For this reason, many people get travel credit cards.  This credit card is set aside for traveling charges.  It can also be for business expenses that are reimbursed after travel.  These types of expenses add up quickly – whether it’s hotel fees, taxi fares, and dinners.  The last thing you need is a negative balance and a few phone calls from merchant servicesSo plan accordingly and use a card that will allow you to pay for what you need.  This little step will eliminate most of the frustration involved with travel.  Your trip and travel life will go so much smoother.

Airfare

Finally, business travel is made better with quality airfare.  This is why you can fly first class or business class.  They call it first class for a reason.  And if you are flying across the country (running on little or no sleep), first class may be just what you need.  Shop around.  Find fares that are in your budget.  And avoid booking a flight that doesn’t let you choose your seat.

Remember, the more you plan, the better your trip will be.  However, try to be flexible at the same time.  In doing so, you will be able to better accommodate the needs of others and eliminate conflict or frustration.

Saving on Travel Costs

In today’s economy, sometimes a vacation seems like an anomaly.  After all, not very many people have large disposable incomes.  Instead, the average person is working to pay for increasingly costly expensive – i.e. gas, food, insurance.  With the high costs, is it possible to find a way to pay for a vacation?  Or do you simply have to stay home?  Fortunately, travel can be in your future if you plan ahead and look for travel deals.  Here are some tips to help you save money on your vacation.

 Cheap Airfare

One of the biggest hurdles to traveling is the price on airfare.  It’s not surprising that these costs have increased.  However, not all flights are expensive.  In fact, many companies have started offering flights for 9 dollars.  A 9 dollar fare makes flying possible.  However, you have to find the fare first.  And unfortunately, it is not something that is available daily.

 Finding Affordable Airfare

The question then becomes, how do you find affordable prices on your airfare?  How can you be one of the few lucky enough to travel for $9?  It is possible.  Start by registering for alerts with companies like Travelzoo.  It will be a great tool for finding affordable airfare.  Simply tell them where you want to go and wait for them to alert you when there’s a good deal.  In addition, once you have booked your flight, register with Yapta.  This company can tell you if cheaper flights are available after you purchase so you can qualify for a refund.

Bundle And Save

Finally, make sure to bundle your travel purchases for more savings.  Often companies join together offering you better deals.  You can often save on travel and hotel by booking at the same time, with the same company.  And many great options are available when you bundle, including the Alex Van Heeren retreats.

There is really no better time than now to start planning your vacation.  Look for deals and determine what time will be best for you to spend time away!  A little effort and research can help you get the best deals in the long run.

Coping With An Accident During Travel

Having an accident while you are traveling can be one of the worst things to experience. You need to be sure you get an auto accident lawyer immediately so that you have legal representation should any charges be filed.

Things To Do After An Accident

Always be sure you have a police report to present to your new attorney. The police report is going to give a great deal of information pertaining to your case. You also should always have a hospital report if you had to go and get your injuries treated.

Your Lawyer’s Advice

Make sure you follow your lawyer’s advice so that you come out ahead in this horrible situation. Make sure you attend all of your doctor visits, and any type of rehabilitation therapy you might need. All of these costs add up in the end and can be a helper when it comes to determining how much you get in your settlement.

Whenever you travel always be sure you follow all of the laws, and watch out for people who are texting and talking on their cell phone while driving. Paying attention to the road could save you from an accident.
